Surigao del Norte – Celebrating my 32nd Birthday in Surigao City

Last year, I celebrated my 32nd birthday in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. It was somehow a “birthday gift” when a certain company asked me to fly to Butuan for work. Since I’ve already been to Butuan, I decided to explore Surigao City and celebrate my birthday. I have 3 days to explore the province of Surigao del Norte, my 61st province.

From Butuan City, it took us about 3 hours on a van and arrived in the city at around 12:00 noon. The original plan was to go to Siargao island, but since we weren’t able to catch the last boat bound for Dapa port in Siargao, we just decided to stay in the city. We first had lunch in a nearby eatery at the boulevard and planned what we could do next.

We then decided to checked-in at Aden Hotel (680 PHP per night) where we will be staying for a night. It’s near the port, just right for our early morning trip to Siargao the following day. After fixing our things, we went out to explore. Since it’s my first time in the city, I was quite excited to see things around.

Later in the evening, we met with my friend and fellow travel blogger from Surigao City, Nathalie of We had dinner at one of the best barbecue houses in the City – Same Place Grill House.
